TypeCon Conference Poster & Merchandise
Role: Student in Type 3 class
Goals: During my continuous academic experience in graphic design systems, I recreated a 6 feet by 3 feet event poster, a name badge, and a Type Con T-shirt mockup sample to invite audiences to visit the world of designers and artists at a TypeCon event.
Iteration to Launching:
-
Within exploration phase of InDesign and Photoshop, I tested multiple watermark logo and hierarchy combinations to optimize each layout for life size viewing.
-
Through several rounds of iteration, I start to prioritize information hierarchy order of operations: 1. Title and headline of the event, 2. Date and location, 3. The information about the Speakers and designers of the event, 4. The typecon website.
Tools: InDesign, Photoshop
Responsibilities: Banner Design, Layout, Typography, Information hierarchy
Dalton Travel Series
Role: Personal Project
Goals: I designed series of character storytelling combining with branding strategies to promote a brand to inform audiences about a place worth to travel with elements of culture traditions, geography, and food.
Iteration to Launching:
-
I started with researching about a top country I have in mind while combining it with my creative peer's travel experiences for narrative story building.
-
The goal for information input on the layout is for audiences to begin looking at the character doing the travel activities before opening the pamphlet to read more about the place.
-
The consistent color swatches are from my illustrated food & character representing the cultural dishes. The colors helped to pop out the contrast between the images and typography panel.
